- Q: Erica, now that the summer is over, I am left with a lot of brown spots on my face, chest, and hands that make-up cannot cover. Is there anyway to get rid of these?
- A: Yes, there are wonderful treatments that remove sun damage safely and effectively. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), often referred to as Fotofacial or Fotolaser, fades brown spots quickly with no downtime or discomfort improving your overall complexion, while glycolic peels gradually exfoliate the top layer of the skin enhancing your complexion. Most importantly, don’t forget to wear sun block daily to prevent any further sun damage!
- Q: I have some big Holiday parties to attend and I want to look my best! Is there anything that will improve my overall complexion and not make me look so tired?
- A: Our skin tends to get a little dull and dry as we approach the winter months. Microdermabrasion helps remove those dead skin cells exposing fresh, new skin beneath. Sometimes, you just need a little extra hydration. Combine microdermabrasion with a hydrating therapeutic facial utilizing vitamins such as C, E, and B5 and you are on your way to a youthful glow!
- Q: I am 42 years old and experiencing breakouts on my face. Is it normal to have adult acne? What can I do?
- A: It is very common. You would be surprised how many patients I see in their 30’s and 40’s with acne breakouts. Hormone shifts, unhealthy diet, stress, and an improper skin care regimen can contribute to unsightly blemishes. I have found proper use of topical cosmeceuticals for your skin type is a great start. There are also advanced technologies including light-based lasers that destroy the acne-causing bacteria as well.
