Q: Dr.Haas, I am 42 and need liposuction on my hips and thighs. I have been seeing a lot of ads for lipo dissolve that does not involve surgery. Can I expect the same result from shots as I can from liposuction?
A: The current fad is injections to melt away the fat, known as Lipo Dissolve or Meso Therapy. This requires multiple injections (hundreds) and many office visits. The results are minimal, compared to one day of surgery with dramatic results, most people will choose liposuction. We know liposuction is safe, effective and routinely done in our office with sedation. I think liposuction is still the better choice for getting the results you want.
