Tuberous Breast Correction

Tuberous breast deformity is a result of breast shape and growth. The tuberous breast has a narrow base and constricted shape. The inframmary crease is tight and there is a short distance from the nipple to the inframammary crease. The areola is usually large and the breast tissue is frequently 'herniated' into the areola. The condition may be on one or both sides.

Of course this appearance is very upsetting to the patient. Treatment is individualized but generally involves augmenting the breast with an implant and possible reducing the size of the areola. All the usual risks and expectations apply as with any surgery.

There is no other effective treatment other than surgery. Just as with everyone, I spend a lot of time to make sure the patients and I are communicating and they know what to expect. Patients with this condition are very happy with the results.
