FAQ's for Liposuction

  1. What type of liposuction do you do?
    1. We use tumescent liposuction, assisted with external ultrasound and a power-assisted canula. These techniques are state-of-the-art and the most modern available.
  2. Where will my surgery be performed?
    1. You have a choice. Imaage® is the only plastic surgery office in the area with a JCAHO-certified in-office surgery suite. We do liposuction hundreds of times here every year. Dr. Haas feels the office allows the patient to have a safe, private, luxurious experience and our patient feedback has been uniformly positive.
    2. We can go to a local hospital if you prefer, however it is not necessary.
  3. What type of anesthesia will be used?
    1. A combination of local anesthesia and IV sedation in used in our surgery suite. This is under the care of an anesthetist that we have used for years. You will not feel or remember anything, but you do not need general anesthesia. We can do your surgery under general anesthesia, but it will be in a local hospital or surgery-center.
  4. Where will the incisions be?
    1. The incisions are about ¼ inch long. We try to hide them in natural creases. Usually there are 1-2 incisions per area.
  5. When can I expect to resume normal activities?
    1. People usually describe liposuction discomfort as feeling like a hard workout. Light activities can be done the day after the procedure. Anything that jostles the skin will be sore for a few weeks.
  6. What are some of the risks associated with liposuction?
    1. Every surgical procedure has risks and liposuction is no exception. Infection, reaction to medication, bleeding are a few of the risks. You will be fully informed of all possible risks during your pre-op visits. Liposuction is very routine, safe surgery, but we still need to be careful.
  7. How much does liposuction cost?
    1. The price depends on the number of areas involved. It can be difficult to give exact figures over the phone before we have seen you. Of course you will get a precise quote at your office visit.
    2. Some patients want improvement in their tummy area with liposuction, when they may actually need a tummy-tuck, or vice-versa. Again, this makes quotes difficult to give over the phone. Dr. Haas wants you to be as informed as possible, so he will discuss these options with you at your consultation.
    3. Remember that these fees are all inclusive and we do the procedure here at Imaage®. Be aware that if you are calling around for quotes to compare apples to apples...some offices will give the surgeon fees and not mention hospital/anesthesia charges.
  8. Payment options
    1. We have a variety of payment choices for you, including cash, check, credit card, or financing options. We refer our patients to high-quality, dependable finance companies. You can easily find these companies by navigating our web site...www.myimaage.com.
